I started work in opensky two years ago. I joined the CABS developers team. Since then I have been working with .NET web applications. I work with great people and learn new things every day. My team mates & I create modern .NET Core applications which use the newest solutions like Docker and Microsoft Azure. Since joining opensky, my experience has developed and I’m really happy I can work with such great people in a great place.
My first application to opensky was rejected, I didn’t have the required experience. I was curious and I asked for feedback and responded to it. The next step was that I got a task to solve and afterwards I got invited for a conversation. This is how I started, opensky gave me a chance to grow – and I grow every single day working here. What I like about opensky is that they appreciate people and their work. Also, our office in Katowice is the best place to work! Not only because we have comfortable office in the city center, but because we have the best people.
I am an experienced Project Manager with over 15 years Managing Software Projects.
During these 15 years I have worked in projects across several industries including Financial Services, Transport, Health Services & Planning.
I started working for opensky as a Project Manager in 2014 and have worked on projects across several of opensky`s client portfolio including NTA, HSE, Housing Authority, SEAI, An Bord Pleanála, Residential Tenancies Board & Cork City Council.
I was delighted to receive a promotion for the position of Program Manager in 2018 and I am currently working on the rollout of a Case Management system for the Residential Tenancies Board where the scope of the project is to replace and expand on the current system that they have manage tenancies, disputes, tribunals & enforcements.
Having experience of working in large multinational corporations and also small to medium enterprises, what I enjoy most about working in opensky is that it feels like a really nice blend between the two! It’s a vibrant and dynamic workplace, with a young, diverse international workforce all pulling together in the same direction.
I come to work every day to a really positive working culture and where people always seem to enjoy what they are working on and who they are working with! We get to work with leading edge technology and creative solutions are what we are all about as a company so this means that I get to work with creative, skillful and dedicated software and solutions experts day in, day out!
I am based in our Naas office but I work closely on a daily basis with team-members in our Polish offices, in India, as well as customer-based team-members in Ireland – and together we provide services and solutions to our many customers across Ireland and the UK.
The company is growing and it’s great to see how the work we do on a daily basis positively impacts our customers’ ability to do their work in the best way they can, and how the work we do directly contributes to the growth and success of the company.
I heard about a vacancy with opensky through one of my ex-colleagues and having researched the company and position, I was very interested in what they do and their internal skillset.
I like that there are internal promotion opportunities for people – the sky really is the limit once you are committed to up-skilling and taking on new challenges. Opportunities are available and you will be given the chance if you can prove yourself. It’s also great to have access to our 2 Directors – their doors are always open for everybody. One of the best things at opensky is the great group of high skilled professionals from different backgrounds and cultures working here.
Straight from University I started in technical support moving to Business Analysis roles and have been a Project/Programme Manager working across multiple sectors, Finance, Supply Chain Management and IT Services for the last 15 years.
opensky first appeared on my radar as a former colleague of mine worked for the company and recommended it. A homegrown Irish owned and operated company was attractive to me following over 10 years in Multinationals. Not only is the company Irish but being in Naas it is also local and flexible which is a huge incentive to people building careers around busy lifestyles.
The work is interesting and diverse as is the workforce and client base. Although I have only been with the company for a relatively short period of time I have been incredibly impressed with the talented pool of people employed by the company which is reflected in the quality of the product and services offered by opensky.
In terms of career development it is very apparent that the company strongly encourages career progression centered around the individual employees career aspirations. Employee opportunity is certainly to the fore of opensky’s ethos.
We invest over 10% of revenue in research and development to ensure we are always ahead of the technology curve, we are continuously innovating and up-skilling so we can bring You, our Clients the best technology available.
